The main research directions of the team are machine learning theory and application in big data environment, medical image processing, biomedical signal processing, and brain-like computing theory.

The team has hosted and participated in more than 10 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Innovation Project of Shandong Province, Young and Middle-aged Scientist Award Foundation(Doctoral Fund)of Shandong Province, National Postdoctoral Research FundandMinistry of Education Doctoral Fund.Under the leadership of Prof.Wu, the team has wononefirst prize of Shandong University Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award,oneprovincial teaching achievement award of Shandong Province, andholds threenationallyauthorized invention patents.
