Laboratory Introduction

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Brain Function Reconstruction, relying on the construction of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, is an important base for brain science research in Shandong Province.Qilu Hospital of Shandong Universityis strong in brain research, including neurosurgery, neurology, pediatric neurology and other specialties, of which neurosurgery and neurology are national key clinical specialties.

The director of the laboratory is Professor Xingang Li,a specially-invited expert of "Taishan Scholar", and the Director of the Laboratory Academic Committee is Liangfu Zhou,an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor of the Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University.Under the leadership of Professor XingangLi and the assistance of“985” Discipline Construction Funds, the National Science and Technology Research Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shandong Province Science and Technology Major Project (Emerging Industries) and Shandong University Discipline SummitProgram,Institute of Brain Function ReconstructionofQilu Hospital of Shandong Universityhas carried out a number of interdisciplinary researchesprojects and published many papers in world-renowned brain journals.

The main research directions of this laboratory are neurotumors, cerebrovascular disease, neuromuscular disease and degenerative diseases.There are more than 50 regular staff members, including 4 "Taishan Scholars" special experts (Professor Xingang Li, Professor Gang Li, Professor Jian Wang, Professor XiulianSun), 11 doctoral supervisors and 18 master supervisors. All researchers under 50 years oldhas a doctorate.
