The mission of the ChiNor centre is to understand the biological mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of malignant brain tumors, and to identify and characterize novel molecular targets that may be used for future development of targeted therapies, including cell and gene therapy. We focus on primary brain malignancies as well as cancer metastasis to the brain.
The activities in our laboratories in JInan and in Bergen are centred on basic research and translational research. We aim to develop new and more predictable treatments for patients with malignant brain tumours. This is done by translating new knowledge from our comprehensive research activities to clinical trials, where researchers and clinical personnel collaborate to make the findings from the laboratory to new and improved treatments.
